Minda Global Berhad Appoints Naresh Alagan as Group CEO
Education player seeks to unlock value by enhancing operational synergy across the group
Cyberjaya, 24th January 2019 – Minda Global Berhad today announced the appointment of Mr Naresh Alagan as Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) who will report to Tan Sri Dato’ Dr R. Palan, the Group Managing Director. Tan Sri Dr Palan previously held both roles.
Naresh was formerly the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Executive Director of Air Asia Global Shared Services (AGSS) overseeing some 350+ professional staff who provide financial, people, IT and business support to the Air Asia Group. Naresh has also worked with leading corporates in Malaysia such as PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PwC) Advisory and Maxis Communications Berhad among others. His 25-year experience in corporate life includes corporate strategy, business planning, performance improvement, change and transformation, financial restructuring, treasury operations and merger integration. His qualifications include Bachelor of Law (Honours), Bachelor of Business, Master of Management, Master of Business Administration (MBA), Certificate in Global Strategy & Operations Management, Certificate in Legal Practice and CPA Professional & Public Practice Program. Naresh is a qualified accountant, being a member of CPA Australia, and is also admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in Australia.
Naresh is expected to help the Minda Global Group to unlock value through improved operational synergy across the various education institutions under the Group’s umbrella. His corporate experience will also be invaluable as Minda Global institutions formulate new strategies in preparation for the fast changing and highly competitive private education landscape. Institutions across the globe are now focused on the challenges of getting graduates ready for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
